About Short Term Medical Insurance

What is Short Term Medical Insurance?

Short Term Medical is a temporary plan of insurance designed for people who are between permanent health plans. Whether you are a graduating student, between jobs, laid off, or waiting for your employer’s health coverage to begin, a Short Term Medical plan from LifeMap Assurance Company provides valuable insurance protection.

Please note:  Short Term Medical (STM) coverage is not a replacement for ACA mandated health insurance.  It is solely meant as temporary coverage to provide you some financial peace of mind until you are able to enroll for ACA qualified coverage.

You choose the term of coverage – a minimum of 30 days up to the maximum policy term of 90 days. You select the deductible amount – $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, or $7,500 per covered person.

After the deductible is met, the policy pays the rate of payment you have selected – either 80% or 50% of the next $10,000 – and then 100% of the balance of covered expenses up to a maximum benefit of $1,000,000 during the policy term.

No family will be required to satisfy more than a total of three times the individual deductible. Covered expenses for all eligible family members may be accrued to satisfy the family deductible.

This web site provides a brief description of the important features of this plan. This is not the insurance contract. The actual plan sets forth in detail the rights and obligations of both you and your insurance company. State mandated benefits, if applicable, are incorporated through a rider attached to your plan.
